MRI

Resonance Imaging (MRI) is now available at Southlake Orthopaedics, with our new Hitachi Aaris II Open MRI, which will accommodate any type of patient. There are many benefits of MRI and new applications are continually being developed through ongoing research. The MRI scanner is used for all areas of the body and is effective in the clinical evaluation of many types of conditions. With the use of a strong magnetic field and radio waves, MRI produces images of anatomy without the use of radiation required with other imaging modalities, such as X-Ray and CT Scanning. MRI is a non-invasive procedure with no known side effects. The procedure is painless; in fact, you won't see or feel anything! A typical procedure averages thirty minutes or longer, depending on the information requested by your physician. This popular imaging technique can be used as a primary diagnostic tool to provide a quick and accurate diagnosis for your physician.
